About the team & this role
The Infrastructure and Software Engineering (ISE) team builds and supports Sateliot’s technical foundations and maintains company wide visibility over all active and planned software initiatives developed across other technical and business verticals, tracking their scope, timelines, dependencies, resource needs, and risks.
As Senior IT Program Manager within the ISE team, you will establish and maintain this portfolio view, challenge the realism of plans and forecasts, and give the CTO and Senior Manager of Infrastructure & Software Engineering the clarity needed to prioritize and intervene. The role focuses on visibility and control rather than owning every delivery, with direct Project Manager or Product Owner responsibility limited to selected initiatives requiring deeper support.
What you'll do
Establish and continuously maintain the company wide software inventory, surfacing every active and planned coding initiative regardless of which department owns it, from the CTO organization to commercial teams.
Create portfolio level control across dozens of concurrent initiatives by mapping owners, scope, milestones, expected timings, critical dependencies, resource needs, risks, and clear indicators of delivery confidence.
Validate the technical realism of plans and forecasts, partnering with the Software Engineering Manager to challenge estimates, expose missing work, detect resource gaps, and raise risks before they affect other initiatives.
Provide clear portfolio reporting to the CTO and Senior Manager of Infrastructure & Software Engineering through Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, dashboards, dependency maps, and Gantt views, highlighting where decisions, resources, or intervention are required.
Adapt your level of involvement to each initiative, maintaining portfolio oversight by default and taking direct Project Manager or Product Owner responsibility only for a limited subset of initiatives where deeper support is explicitly required.
What you bring
Extensive senior level experience leading complex software programs and portfolios across many teams and dozens of parallel initiatives, with a record of creating transparency, control, and reliable forecasts in ambiguous environments.
A strong technical foundation across the software development lifecycle and enough architectural breadth to reason credibly about full stack systems, embedded engineering, cloud and infrastructure, DevOps, observability, distributed platforms, and mission critical software.
Exceptional command of project and program management, including portfolio governance, integrated roadmaps, Gantt planning, dependency mapping, resource and capacity analysis, risk and issue management, and executive reporting. Advanced working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace is essential.
Outstanding stakeholder leadership and communication, with the judgment to facilitate difficult trade offs, influence without authority, support engineering leaders and project managers, and translate technical complexity into clear decisions for executives.
Bonus if you have
Experience in satellite, aerospace, telecommunications, IoT, or other mission critical engineering environments.
A technical degree or equivalent engineering background, supported by recognized program or project management credentials such as PgMP, PMP, or PRINCE2.
Practical experience using AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate day to day work as a Program Manager, Project Manager, or Product Owner, including analysis, planning, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder preparation.
