WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.

YOUR MISSION

Working within the Payload team, your mission is to design, integrate, and verify the digital logic that powers the "brain" of our satellites. You will own RTL blocks end-to-end — from specification to silicon — and ensure our payloads can communicate effectively from orbit.

This is an RTL-focused role. You will spend most of your time in HDL and verification.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

•RTL Design & Integration: Design and implement digital logic in SystemVerilog or VHDL for FPGA platforms. Integrate IP blocks and bridge them via AXI4 / AXI4-Stream / AXI4-Lite.

•High-Speed Interfaces: Design and bring up high-speed interfaces between FPGA and external transceivers, ADCs, or sensors.

•Verification: Write testbenches and simulate designs to catch bugs in simulation that would otherwise be expensive in lab or orbit.

•Timing & Constraints: Author timing constraints, manage clock-domain crossings, and close timing on real designs.

•Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts in Python and Tcl to automate build processes, regression, and lab procedures.

•Hands-on Debugging: Work in the lab with real hardware to debug signals, validate payload performance, and troubleshoot integration issues.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

•2 to 4 years of professional experience designing digital logic on FPGA — Xilinx/AMD or Altera/ Intel are both welcome.

Technical Skills

•Strong SystemVerilog or VHDL on real, shipped designs.

•Solid AXI protocol family experience (AXI4 / AXI4-Stream / AXI4-Lite).

•High-speed interface design and debug experience.

•RTL simulation with industry tools (Vivado xsim, ModelSim, Questa, or equivalent), comfortable producing self-checking testbenches and reasoning about functional coverage.

•Timing closure fundamentals: constraints, clock-domain crossings, pipelining.

•Comfortable working in a Linux environment and using the command line (Bash), and with Git version control workflows.

•Demonstrable ability to write scripts in Python or Tcl for automation tasks.

•AI-Augmented Engineering: experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor AI, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development and debugging, or a strong willingness to adopt these tools to work smarter and faster.

•Professional proficiency in English.

Soft Skills

•A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for Space Tech and 5G.

•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed.

•Eagerness to learn and share knowledge with the team.

NICE TO HAVE

•Versal know-how is a plus (newcomers will go through our internal Versal training course and reference material).

•Previous exposure to Xilinx tools like Vivado or Vitis (or Altera/Intel Quartus equivalents).

•Verification methodologies — UVM, SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), constrained-random, formal verification, or functional coverage frameworks.

•Basic knowledge of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) or baseband processing concepts.

•Specific interest in satellite payloads, 5G NTN, or space-grade design.
