WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.

YOUR MISSION

Sateliot is seeking a motivated and hands-on Telecommunications Laboratory Technician to join our R&D team in a training-oriented role. You will support the development and validation of cutting-edge IoT and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technologies through the setup, operation, and maintenance of laboratory testbeds.

This position is designed for students looking for an internship that offers a strong practical learning experience in real R&D environments. You will work closely with engineers to build, configure, and test communication systems involving IoT devices, satellite links, and network infrastructure.

Your mission will focus on gaining hands-on experience while contributing to ongoing R&D activities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Support the setup, assembly, and maintenance of communication testbeds, including both hardware and software components.

• Assist in the integration of IoT devices, modems, and embedded systems within lab environments.

• Perform test execution and data collection for IoT and NTN communication experiments.

• Support the configuration and operation of Linux-based systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi) used in testbeds.

• Collaborate in basic scripting and automation tasks (e.g., Python) for testing and data handling.

• Assist in networking setup and troubleshooting (IP configuration, UDP/TCP communication).

• Work with laboratory equipment and tools for system validation and testing.

• Document test procedures, results, and configurations under supervision.

• Collaborate with R&D engineers in daily lab activities and experimental setups.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a higher vocational training program in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of telecommunications, networking, or electronics.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and basic command-line usage.

• Interest in IoT systems, wireless communications, and satellite technologies.

• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python or similar is a plus).

• Hands-on attitude, organized mindset and willingness to work with hardware (cabling, assembly, device integration).

• Ability to work in a team and follow technical guidance.

• Good communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
  

NICE TO HAVE

• Familiarity with IoT communication concepts (NB-IoT, LTE, LoRa, etc.).

• Exposure to embedded systems or microcontrollers.

• Basic understanding of networking protocols (IP, UDP, TCP).

• Experience with Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.

• Interest in 5G/6G and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN).
