Regulatory Affairs Trainee
WHO ARE WE?
Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.
In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.
YOUR MISSION
As an Intern in Regulatory Affairs, you will support Sateliot’s compliance and licensing activities worldwide. This role is designed to give you exposure to the fascinating world of satellite telecommunications regulations while providing mentorship and guidance from senior colleagues.
You will assist in research, documentation, and communication with regulatory bodies, helping the team secure authorizations and maintain compliance with international frameworks. This position is a great opportunity to grow into a career in space law, policy, or telecommunications regulation.
YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS
- Regulatory Research: Monitor and summarize regulatory developments related to satellite communications, spectrum allocation, and space activities.
- Licensing Support: Assist with the preparation of license applications and documentation for regulatory authorities
- Documentation & Reporting: Help maintain accurate records, draft presentations, and prepare briefing materials for internal use.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support the team in coordinating communication with regulators, consultants, and industry associations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Participate in internal reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and commercial teams to understand how regulatory needs influence Sateliot’s operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently studying or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations.
- Interest in space law, space policy, telecommunications, or spectrum management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in English (any other languages are a plus).
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to occasionally travel if required.
