WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.

YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a bold, curious, relentless, skilled Senior RF Engineer to project manage, which includes schedule management, identify components, perform costs breakdowns, as well as design, develop, test, and qualify RF systems and electronic hardware. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all aspects of product gates, communication systems, hardware design, testing, and integration, with a focus on preparing systems for flight. You will work on cutting-edge projects involving wireless communications on both hardware and software aspects.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

Project management

• You will manage the project schedules, deliverables, negotiate with suppliers, identify components for the design, perform trade-off analysis NOT only for technical aspects but also for lead time and costs.
• Communicate within the team regularly the success and gaps.

Product Design and Development:

• You will not only work on the technical aspects of the RF product, but you will be the project manager, financial manager, technical manager, supply chain manager, test manager and industrial manager of the product.
• On the technical manager aspect, you will design and optimize RF circuits, LDO converters, antennas, transceivers, and amplifiers for the communication systems applications.
• Perform simulations (e.g., SystemVue, ADS, HFSS, CST) and modeling of RF systems.
• Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and oversee fabrication of RF hardware.
• Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements (e.g., thermal, electrical, EMC, vibration, radiation).

Testing & Validation:

• Conduct RF testing (S-parameters, EVM, noise figure, phase noise, power measurements) in lab environments.
• Perform EMI/EMC compliance testing and troubleshooting.
• Develop automated test scripts (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) for RF characterization.
• Support environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, shock/vibration) for flight qualification.

Integration & Flight Readiness:

• Collaborate with systems engineers to integrate RF hardware into larger spacecraft systems.
• Prepare documentation of flight hardware which includes the test report per SN number and integration test p.lan.
• Support field testing and in-flight troubleshooting of RF systems.

Technical Leadership:

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on RF best practices.
• Lead design reviews and risk assessments for RF subsystems.
• Stay updated on emerging RF technologies and industry trends.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Relentless focus on execution and impact
• Experience in product management, schedule keeping, managing risks, negotiating within the team and with suppliers, clear communication.
• Proficiency in RF design tools (SystemVue, ADS, HFSS, CST, Altium, Cadence, KiCAD).
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• knowledge of wireless standards (S-band, Ka-band, LTE, 5G, etc.).
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with phased arrays, radar systems, or satellite communications.

Background in aerospace environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, vibration).
